What is left for you: a short setup wizard
These are the steps from the ClawBox quickstart, the same for both editions. The quickstart puts them at a few minutes from a sealed box to a working assistant.
Plug it in
Connect the included USB-C power supply and, if you like, an Ethernet cable. The box boots in about a minute.
Open the setup wizard
On your phone or laptop, join the ClawBox-Setup Wi-Fi network that the box creates, then open the wizard in your browser.
Connect it to your network
Choose your Wi-Fi or keep the Ethernet connection. The wizard updates the system and asks you to set a device password.
Choose an AI provider
Use ClawBox AI, connect your own Claude, GPT or Gemini account or API key, or stay with the model that runs on the box.
Link a chat app
Connect Telegram and message your assistant, or use Discord, WhatsApp, email or the web chat on the ClawBox desktop.

Does ClawBox come with OpenClaw preinstalled?
Yes. ClawBox ships running OpenClaw, and ClawBox Hermes Edition ships running Hermes Agent. There is nothing to install or select on first boot: you only complete the setup wizard.
Is ClawBox a mini PC with OpenClaw preinstalled?
It is a compact computer built to run an AI assistant around the clock: an NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano Super with 8 GB of memory, a 512 GB NVMe SSD, Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet, in a 100 × 79 × 31 mm case. OpenClaw comes installed on it, or Hermes Agent on the Hermes Edition.
Is there a one-click OpenClaw setup?
There is no installer to run, because OpenClaw is already installed. What remains is a short wizard in your browser: connect the box to your network, set a password, choose an AI provider and link a chat app. The quickstart puts it at a few minutes.
Can I get Hermes Agent preinstalled instead?
Yes. Order ClawBox Hermes Edition: the same hardware and the same setup wizard, shipped running Hermes Agent by Nous Research. It does not need a ClawBox AI plan.
Do I need a subscription or an API key?
No. The hardware is yours, and it ships with an on-device model that answers without an account or an API key. You can also connect your own Claude, GPT, Gemini or OpenRouter key or subscription. A ClawBox AI plan is optional.
What do I need to set it up?
A power socket, a phone or laptop with a web browser, and your Wi-Fi details or an Ethernet cable. The USB-C power supply is in the box. To message your assistant from your phone you need a Telegram, Discord or WhatsApp account; the web chat on the box needs none.
What if I get stuck during setup?
Start with the quickstart and troubleshooting guides at docs.clawbox.com. You can also reach the ClawBox team by email or Telegram, or ask in the community Discord. How much support is included depends on your subscription tier.
Can I still install OpenClaw on my own hardware?
