You can now connect your ChatGPT Plus or Pro subscription directly to your ClawBox. No API keys. No token counting. No extra billing. (Prefer an OpenAI API key? That path works too — both are first-class options in the ClawBox setup UI.)
The setup takes 30 seconds:
- Tap "Connect to GPT" in your ClawBox settings
- Enter a code on OpenAI's website
- Done.
If you're already paying $20/month for ChatGPT Plus (or $200/month for Pro), your ClawBox now uses that same subscription for cloud AI reasoning. No separate API billing, no usage tracking headaches.
Best of Both Worlds
This is the hybrid architecture we've always envisioned:
- Local AI for privacy-sensitive tasks — voice processing (Whisper STT + Kokoro TTS), quick conversations, and offline operation all run on-device with zero cloud dependency
- Cloud AI for advanced reasoning — complex analysis, coding assistance, and multi-step tasks leverage the full power of GPT-5 through your existing subscription
Local voice processing can stay on the device. Requests routed to ChatGPT or another cloud model leave the device and are governed by that provider's plan, privacy terms, limits, and pricing.
